Why hasn't a company came up with a bar that you could place into your tank that dissolves into solution? Something like a calc bar or alk bar would be amazing and make alot of our lives way easier!

Lets say you keep your calc at 420-450, you need a salinity of about 1.024 to get there and that means you can only have a maximum of 420-450 inside the solution. So why cant there be a bar of calc that you place in your sump and dissolves when the level drops? just makes complete sense to me unless I'm just ignorant an am missing something.

Please chime in and add to what you think!

I have heard of something like that before, it probably didn't work well since calc is already super saturated in sea water.

did a little 'quick' research on them and people say that it couldn't work and your added 21 minerals you dont know about into your tank leading to potential problems. Which makes sense to me. Still wonder if someone could make just a plain old calc bar with nothing else.
