well they are all good, it just depends on your budget and personal preference. i can tell you that people werent getting rid of the AI SOL because it wasnt growing coral. because it will.

ive been having trouble with my 150 gallon corner tank its about 3 and a half feet high. I have 2 AI Sol units running on top of it and I cant seem to get these coral to live. I have a calaustrea, some mushrooms, and had some clove polyps that got covered in brown and died. What is the intensity of these lights supposed to be at? I am almost 100% positive it has to be something having to do with the lights because I have all my critters and animals living and I test many tests like phosphate and all nitrates and amonia regularly.
Anyone have any suggestions or can you help me please?

Ai sol, alot of people love them. But for some corals they were losing a few key vibrant colors such as pinks and reds fading or turning orange. I think if you get a good deal on some ai sols, the plan should be to build a 400-420 and orange supplemnt bar. Its pretty easy and it covers most of the nm peaks you get from a good MH bulb.

thats pretty much what i am planning on doing now. Ive been talking with the guy that built grims suppplement lighting, and will hopefully have the cash to get that going soon.

Depending on dimensions it should be enough. often times people ramp up the lights too quickly and kill their corals. What percentage are you running your lights at and what are the dimensions of the tank.

white and blue are both at 25% i think somewhere near there and royal is at 20%. In the beginning they were much higher actually.

im not home to tell you dimensions ><

if in the beginning you turned them up too high it might have shocked your corals. keep them at the level they are at now and raise them maybe 5% on each channel until you get to your desired level. If you notice any corals reacting poorly then back the lights power back down.
