Lol It's probably the best option we have at getting the proper spectrum with LED, if you have the money of course.

If you PM Rapid LED your tank sizes, he will give you a good choice of lighting for your tank. They also will mix and match your light preferences for you at your own desire, and tell you exactly how they should be hooked up. For DIY, I've seen some pretty nice set-ups from a few members here. That's where I plan on ordering mine when the time comes.

People are selling their LEDs because they didn't believe us when we said that only a blue and white combo will not make corals keep their colors.
Now that they have wasted hundreds of dollars and 2 years, people are realizing that LEDs are not all that great

Agreed, LED's with the wrong spectrum and only using white and blue are not doing so well, but there's so many conversations on here that point this out. You need to broaden the light selection like MH has done. Early off in the game companies were selling LED's just because they knew how to build them, not because they were tried and tested in aquariums. LED is definitely having to beat it's own path, but it has Far from hit a wall IMO.

Shame on you Dingo.. You know better.. I'd put my colors against any halide system I have seen. Parameters are a limiting for most of these failed led projects not the light source. I'll agree that many of the white blue combos aren't optimal... but LED technology is definitely "that great".

When your halides came out they weren't worth a flip for coloration till people like Sanjay plotted out the spectrographs, we learned what ballasts to use and which reflectors. LED is coming around faster than Halide did.

All LED since inception. AI sol blues and I added my supplements LEDs about 2 months ago.
