I have been wrong before, haha! Im the first to admit when Im wrong.

However the ID in question is without a doubt vermetid snails. The strings you see are the fishing lines, lols. They are filter feeders and cast their lines out to feed and then pull them back in hoping they have food on them. If you start to get a bunch of them, thats letting you know you have to many nutrients in the water. They will not survive without food. If there is an abundance of food, they will multiply fairly quickly.

Excellent, thanks for the ID geek, much appreciated.

So these are relativley harmless to have inside a maturing tank ??

When I have finished cycling the tank and I've done my 50% water change I'm assuming that will lower the levels of nutriants almost immediatly..

P.s whilst looking through my magnifying glass at some of the soft coral on my rocks starting to develop, I noticed a perfectly formed snail, he was incerdibly small maybe 1-2mm max but under magnification he looked amazing, perfectly formed coned shell and everything. Can't wait to complete the cycle and get some more lifestock in there..

    Cheers
