So my wife, being the excited person she is with our reef tank, woke up this morning and was looking in the tank like she does every morning...

Shortly after, she let out a "YELP" and said "GOTCHYA you little @$$@%^^@#" ..... So I was puzzled but did not go to see what it was.. Shortly after, she walks in to the room where I am and has a bristle worm that is over 4 inches long in a little dish. While wearing her big smile, I told her "Way to go hun!" and she was really happy. She showed it to the kids then told them to wave bye to "The little jerk cause he won't be going back into our tank" .. lol..

Our colt has been looking a lil unhealthy for the past few days.. The other day we noticed the bristle worm on the colt and everywhere it has touched has been looking unhealthy... So atleast that's 1 out of 5 worms that are gone.......

So as I was getting ready for work - she let out a "OOOOOOOOOOOOoooooo KIDS!!! COME LOOK, HURRY!!!" .... Apparently one of the rocks we got had a few small star fish on it and they are now visible size (penny size to be somewhat close to it) and they all cheered. :)

So anywho, wanted to share that with you guys. Did not find a place to put it, so I figured this would be a good section of the site. hehe

    later guys/gals!

Send some pix of the star fish...I have heard that some could be of concern...post it in the "ID this" section.
Good catch on the Bristle worm...I'm still fishing ! : (

Ya, we have been searching and "feeling" and already identified it as asterina. But it's gonna be transported to my FOWLR tank later. Right now, the kids are just happy cause it's a "free" one. ;)

Err, yea -- think we are wrong on our ID process.. it only has 5 "points" to it's start figure.. Not the 7 like everyone fears. But I'll see about posting a pic tonight when I get home.

With the hurricane about to hit, I'm having to spend alot of time at work so if i'm not dead tired tonight - i'll get u guys hooked up.

Wow. You have no idea how jealous I am of you. Your wife is catching bristleworms. If I could just get my wife to exhibit a mild interest in the tank's activities, I would consider it a victory!!! Good job to the both of you.

Naw, I'm safe.. I'm in Arkansas. We are only "expected" to get a major flood as a result of this storm. I'm having to help my customer shut down their 100+ stores that are down in LA. The next week, I get to be there while they slowly come back online.

It is white right now, but it only has 5 points and is somewhat stringy once it's past the center. I'm a lil'confused and will get a pic up soon.... We lost the usb card reader for our camera so it's kinda hard to get a pic up here. Anywho, I have about 3 more hours of work b4 I can get home... ugg.. then up early for a war-room.
