This tank has been moving extremely slow over the last year, mainly because we had a kid and then moved!

Right now livestock is some cerith snails, a couple hermits, a firefern macro, and an apple monti frag.

    I have some upgrades underway:

    1) Flow - I recently added a Koralia Nano 425 to increase flow

    2) Lighting - I just purchased two BoostLED PAR30 (with stands)

    3) Fuge - I will be doing the AC70 fuge mod with chaeto

I got the new light installed. Compared to the old light this one is extremely blue, and the shimmer effect is almost dizzying.

The monti is already showing some signs of coloring up, and the coralline on the rocks is really popping.

I guess the lights I was using previously were not really in the proper spectrum...

    Enough flow?

Can you manually remove it, cut down on introduction of nutrients?

I have the AC70 fuge with chaeto running now and some additional cleanup crew members. I will pull each piece of rock and scrub.

Unfortunately the monti is a casualty. Like golf is the most humbling game, this has to be the most humbling hobby. One day things look to be on the up-and-up then WHAM...

Truer words have never been spoken. Just when I think I love it, I hate it.

The good news is I do feel I am getting a handle on what works and what doesn't...

If i were you I'd throw the cheato in the display and run some GFO or some type of Phosphate/Nitrate remover into the AC70 until things start improving
