This post.... wow. I am a long time reader of this forum, but I never took the time to register for it. This post made me!

First off, Macabe, people would probably take you more seriously if you used a spell checker! It shows that you don't take much time before posting, unlike some people.

Secondly, most reefers would love to have all of their live stock aquacultured and tank bred, but the hobby isn't to this point yet. There are still too many unknown variables in a saltwater aquarium.

Now, back on topic. Was this clownfish ever quarantined? It sounds like you are a bit worried about the two white dots on the fish. Keep a close eye on it and your other fish. Make sure you can get your hands on a spare tank for an all out QT if you start to notice it spread!

Best of luck to you, keep us posted!

It took much longer to type it than to think it. I'd be willing to wager you spent more time thinking about your post than I did on mine. I think it's funny that you mock me for using my brain to think about what you said, too.

You have wild fish, you're ignorant of that fact, and you don't want to admit it. The reason people buy wild caught is because tank bred fish aren't available at all, or aren't available to satisfy the entire market demand.

Also, we catch fish from the wild, put them in our tanks, and in the process learn about them. A hobbyist notices odd behavior, sees some eggs, and blam, there's hundreds of tiny domino damsels. He starts a business breeding damsels using his observational knowledge, and then we don't need the wild caught fish anymore. None of that happens if you don't catch wild fish to begin with.

I can only wonder what your stance on coral collections is.

For real. I'd buy a tank bred fish over a wild caught one any day, given the choice; look at my clowns and cardinal. I picked them because they're tank bred.

@Macabe: 3016>387... you might learn something if you open your mind.

OP: if you have had ich before, you probably still have it. Have you QT'd your fish? Did you let your tank go fallow after your last outbreak? I found out the hard way that when you think one fish has ich, remove and treat them all in a hospital tank.
