Wildlife populations 'plummeting'

Well this just stinks.

"Between a quarter and a third of the world's wildlife has been lost since 1970, according to data compiled by the Zoological Society of London.

Populations of land-based species fell by 25%, marine by 28% and freshwater by 29%, it says.

Humans are wiping out about 1% of all other species every year, and one of the "great extinction episodes" in the Earth's history is under way, it says.

Pollution, farming and urban expansion, over-fishing and hunting are blamed."

wat to many of "US" matt im afraid, have always been concerned of expantion of the human population.
it seems we're all seeing it.
I can remember back in my early teens it was cold during the winter and always good snow fall, now it's a rareity or a fluke and gone the next day it seems.
we really need to re-think our way of life ( all of us ) use less and clean up our messes.
unforuteneitly it's big business that drives it , money rules the world, and
most of the common folk like us are stuck in the middle some where.

I pray we can turn this around by our ingenuity and our continued evolution.
Otherwise, there is always the big meteor.

 

I love nature and it's ability to bounce back if w'ed just leave it be and let it recupe , funny how nature /plants/ocean/animals can really do well if we ( us humans ) back off.
The simple reason why i preach "hands off" as much as possible.
Ive lived on a farm in my younger years and the "old schoolers" as i call them
knew what the hell they were doing.

Sad to think what w'eve become and what we're doing in this day in age.
( so dam smart "we think" weve become ignorant of the real problems at hand )

 

Haha. I've always thought that those older folks had some sense that I never did have, being born in the new age. I wasn't raised the same way. Although I have learned to see it the same, it wasn't always like that. Scary to think about where society is headed, but by god it's headed somewhere.
