i saw my yellow tang nipping at my firefish's tail. I do not know if it was the tang that did it or someting else. But does yellow tangs usuallly atk or eat other tank mates such as my firefish? My firefish later died.

I just added a firefish to my tank a week ago... my yellow tang hasn't paid him any attention as of yet.

I have had my yellow tang and a firefish together for at least a year. I dont see the firefish very often though because it only comes out during feeding time, and come to think of it, if the yellow tang is on the opposite side of the tank the firefish will come out but if the tang is visible from the firefishes home he wont come out.

Just about anything is capable of attacking a firefish. They are pretty docile.

Yup. I had these two together for many years without issue, but that dosn't mean it will always work out. Firefish are timid and Yellows can be hyper and aggressive. Doesn't take much to scare a firefish into hiding.
