I suggest to get an RO system and look at the specs of it's product. Tap water is hopeless. i

+1 on all accounts. Post count just shows who like to run their mouths the most. Join date would be a little more appropriate but even them its a bad gauge of wisdom.

I dig RODI water, i did well without it for years. My tap water has a TDS of anywhere from 75-150 depending on the months which is pretty good (glad I live in Montana) but most urban areas can get water around 500 out of the tap.

I also think phosphates are not as huge of a deal with a FO tank but with probably $1500-$2500 dollars in fish a $100 RODI you keep in the closet might not be a terrible idea... the whole "Ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure."

Parting shot as I log off for the night, I think some people need to take an adderall and chill out

"The post count of a user doesn't have anything to do with experience level (maybe in this case)" - A profile can sometimes be drawn based on the number of posts and the type of dilemma. Verdad or Falso?

"Regardless, an "ultra premium" (example please?), or a more expansive brand of salt will not necessarily result in a better tank" -Very true, many premium salt mixes are market driven and not quality driven.

"nor will it solve possible algae problems.[/QUOTE]" -Much aside far from the truth.

Si. There are salt mixes out there that will keep your aquarium glass always clear. The dude is playing the Oracle of Adelphi. We must respect the experience of other posts. There is so much out there. Too much for any one person.
