Will blenny get gold

I recently purchased a golden highfin tonga blenny. When i got it, it was black. the people i ordered it from said it would lighten up and turn gold when it isnt as stressed. will this happen or will it stay black because i ordered a gold one

 

I'm not exactly sure about that blenny but my bicolor blenny changes color, he gets white splotches or stripes so I think its possible yours could change too

 

mine is a color variant so i worry they just sent me a normal one

from what i know. if it arrived black then its a black highfin blenny not a golden. i would find it hard to believe that the color change due to stress should be that significant, from golden to black....i dont think so

 

well its gray and it doees seem to be gettin yellower

 

It will more than likely turn gold. Mine was black on arrival and turned golden yellow within a day or two. They are like mood rings they will change color to suit there mood. I thought I had gotten jipped but the lfs assured me he would turn yellow and he did lol.

 

did you order a golden highfin/tonga blenny too or just a normal black highfin

 

I'm Sorry I meant to put my midas blenny, I guess I assumed you where all psychic and new what I had lol. My apologies! I had picked him out a few days before and when I came back to the store to get him he was black, I thought they were trying to sell me another fish and pass it off as my midas, but it turned out he was just stressed.

good news he is bright gold
he turns gray when startled or stressed
i contacted the people and they said that the color variants can revert back to their natural colors if they are scared
