Will coraline damage my aquarium?

    Just wandering if this stuff will get into the seals in the corners and force it's way in there to cause a leak or something. Anyone ever heard of or have something like that happen?

    I've never heard of it forcing its way into the silicone. I think at worst it may clog up pumps and stuff like that.

    Coraline is one of the best and most important filters IMO.

    I have seen some pretty older tanks with a tone of coralline and they don't see to be suffering from an ill effects. I can say that if there is a scratch on the glass, it will embed itself in that.....might be pretty hard to get out.

    Other than clogging my overflow slots once in a while, no damage so far here. Just needs some chipping here and there.

    I bought a used tank that was covered in coraline algea. Once I cleaned it off so I could see in the tank you could see where it looked like it had etched the glass. I will definatly keep it off my viewing sides as long as I have a tank
