I would love to add a Kole Tang to my tank. I have a 150gal (6 foot) mixed reef. Current fish inhabitants are:

    pair of Blue Throat Triggers
    1 female swallowtail angel
    1 yellow wrasse
    1 half black mimick tang
    1 starry blenny

I have read that Kole's might be annoyed with Starry Blennies. I'm also not sure how the half black & Kole would do with each other. The half black takes the occasional shot at the Blenny but the tank is big enough that it is not an issue. Would I be ok with a Kole in here?

    Thanks!

You should be fine. The half black is acanthurus and the kole is a bristletooth, so even in a smaller tank they shouldn't bother each other. As far as the blenny, I've never heard of any tang having much of a problem with any tang.

The only way to find out is to try. Every fish has it's own special personality, so you really never know.

Should be fine. I have a yellow tang in with my Kole. The key with tangs is that if they are roughly the same shape they potentially pose a threat and might fight. Even with my yellow and kole being about the same shape they still do fine together in my 90 bow front. And yes the fact that it will be bristletooth makes a difference too even though he eats blood worms and brime shrimp all the time as well.
