yeah, well my electric blue hermit is larger then him with big strong claws, and he still managed to rip half of his eyestalk off, so I netted him and dropped a fry box(like a mesh box) in there and thats where he is at the moment, till I call the store tomorrow, your tank was alot larger too so maybe its just the cramped quarters, and he'd surely decimate the peppermint shrimp I want...he is amazing to watch though, extremely focused on whatever hes looking at, searching the rocks for little bit of food, I may trade him for some credit on coral, or on a BTA for my clowns that are trying to host in my zoas, I dont mind caring for the anemone, and then theyd maybe leave my zoas be

A word of advice, stay away from a Convict Blenny(eng. Goby) The one that I have is about 12" long and the MF ate my paired Harlyquin shrimps(that I got from Tangster) and every single peppermint shrimp that I put into the tank.

yeah, I know they get huge, and dig alot so I think I'll avoid that, well I have spent alot at the store I got it from in the past month, they guy knows I have 2 peppermint shrimp on order too, and he does steer people away from stuff that wouldnt do well in their tanks, I think it was a case of him not knowing, and me having read stuff that said it would only kill small ornamental shrimp...so I'll figure it out when I call tomorrow, they are usually cool about stuff, he had some nice small BTA's with good color so maybe I'll get one so it can find a place before I add any more corals

I haven't read the whole thread but never mix dottybacks with shrimp. I learned my lesson the hard way by losing about $200 worth of shrimp.

yeah, seems like they are quite the little killers the more I read. If I want to see something die I'll throw a feeder goldfish in with my auratus cichlid, hes got the tank to himself and it really fast and agressive, awesome fish

Nice lil tank. IMO id take him out thats to small of a place for him and anything else. He will get very territorial and with such a small tank well you can figure that out :p Also for a lil nid bit take the glass cleaner out and your thermometer out. I think you would appreciate your tanks looks even more. :p

I may take the algae scraper out, but the thermometer has to stay in, the room temp varies alot so it fluctuates between 78-80 in the tank so I like to know where its at, maybe I'll hide it in the bottom corner, once there more in the tank

damn dottyback ate my peppermint in 2 seconds flat! I watched it grab the shrimp then bang it on a rock! Craziest thing I have ever seen... Then the stupid fish chassed my 6 line for 2 hours. Needless to say that that fish is no longer in my house!

well if it was a cheap fish it would have been african cichlid food in about 2 seconds, but thats over half the price of the BTA for my tank so I'll return it today
