if it's in a sealed 5 gal bucket, will it start to grow algae in it or anything?

i realize the salinity might go up, but if it's just sitting there in a bucket with no flow, will it still be good water in a couple weeks?

what about fresh rodi for top offs? same?

If you can help it, simply don't make batch of water that far in advance.

I personally make the cutoff around two weeks for fresh s/w that's mixing at tank temp with a powerhead in a 5 gal bucket. I've found lots-o-junk floating around in the water if it hangs around my house longer than that. Tho, I don't keep it sealed. You're trying to areate it and if it's sealed, it'll throw off the ph.

If you have s/w mixing in a bucket for more than two weeks, you're definitely slacking on water changes. Ask me how I know ;)

RODI isn't going bad anytime soon in a clean sealed container, no worries there at all.
