I have a 36 G tank with lots of of rocks and hiding places. I already have a bicolor blenny but is getting beat up by a maroon clownfish. I've had enough with the maroon clownfish being aggressive so trading him in for some credit at our local LFS. I'm thinking of getting a royal gamma to replace the clownfish.

Would the bicolor blenny & royal gamma get along? I also have a yellow tail damsel but it's really mellow and never bothers any of the other fishes.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Yes odds are good, if not change up the scape a little. Royal Gramma are usually pretty shy initially.

Let us know how it works out for you.

    Here is an update!

The bicolor blenny ended dying a few days later. I ended up trading in the maroon clownfish to my local LFS for credit. The clowfish ended killing about a month ago a flame angel and about a week ago the bicolor blenny. Since I traded the clownfish in all I had left was a yellowtail damsel. So I ended up buying a pair of Black & White Ocellaris Clownfish along with a royal gamma.

WE LOVE THE NEW FISHES! Its nice to see the pair following each other all over the tank. What I find odd is the royal gamma follows them around like the 3rd wheel? No aggression between them but follows them around like a lil kid brother.

I have had to re-home Maroon Clowns secondary to their natural aggressive behaviors, a stunning clown but one that belongs in big tanks where other fish will not become it's target for aggression. Exception, there always is one.

I had one also in a 150 and it was a bully. Fortunately the tank was big enough that everyone could stay away for the most part. I would not put one in a tank any smaller or one that is heavily stocked. That being said, I will NOT be getting another even when the big tank is set up!
