will these get along?

A Purple Fire fish and an Orange firefish? i want both but i'm not sure if i can have both.

i want themto be buddies or atleast tolerate eachother.

any advice?

i've seen each in large amounts together at lfs but they rarely have both in stock so idk if they can be kept.

 

i think fire fish fight echuther unless its a male and female

 

i read that they like to be kept in pairs, at least the purple ones.

Unless firefish are a mated pair, they most likely will fight to the death. There is less of a chance of that with different species, but still a chance.

 

most of the time the most aggressive firefish will keep the other at bay in a hole or under a rock till it starves to death.

 

oh, darn thats too bad, we were hoping to get both, so i guess only one, and of one species, not one of each species correct?

 

I have had alot of sucess with firefish pairing up, I have a orange and purple firefish togethor but I recomend if you try it putting them in at the same time.
