Probably if they can get a hold of them. I would think hermit crabs would do more damage though.

Really? I have 2 massive hermits- 2-3 inches each, who never have touched them. Do crabs eat stars?

Same thing as the fish if they can get a hold of them. I would think they would be safe from the hermits.

We are talking about the little tiny ones? Large ones should be safe. The large stars might be a danger to the fish. Green brittle stars are known predators of fish.

I have 1 3 inch arm length starfish, which is what I'm worried about for the fish. He's a red brittle.

I think it should be OK as long as the star is not super hungry.

Do they eat algae? That's what I bought them for. They also just ate my cleaner shrimp and my cardinal. I have to start spot feeding

Don't think brittle or serpent stars eat algae. They're better for cleaning up leftover meaty foods that create DOCs and cause algae.

Why don't you just catch them and take them to your LFS if you think they've gone rogue on you? You might even get store credit for them. :)

Haha that's what I was thinking yesterday! Maybe it will go toward another cleaner shrimp!
