Sorry but what are you referring to. I've never heard of morph of discoma.

 

Discosoma is the species of mushroom you smooth blue purple mushrooms are. They gone in a myriad of different colors. I have red and blue striped, purple with pink and green polka dots, and supermans. They all shrunk down to about nothing under higher light.

So I took some photos today and was taking a look at my tank. I have been doing a lot of thinking and am not super happy with the look. I want to go with more sps. I've got several big softies and they are just not giving me the look I want. I really want to pick up some new frags here pretty soon. I just don't know what to go with. I am also thinking of finding a new home for some of my bigger softies. I don't know. Just not very happy with the big toadstool mushroom on the right. The big rhino leather in the middle has more sentimental value to me since it was one of the first corals in my 80g when I finally decided to go reef. I like the Lps for the most part I eventually just want to do Lps and sps. What are your thoughts.

 

Well you have had sucess with SPS recently, you know you can do it. I would use the leathers as trade and pick up more. The big thing as you transition to SPS, you need to supplement minerals (Ca and Alk mostly)

Look into dosing(pumps and 2part), CaRx (calcium reactors), or Kalk in your topoff.

 

Thanks shin, I already have and have dosed b-ionic but haven't had to dose in months. My alk and ca have run pretty good but I do understand with more sps they will suck up a lot more of those elements.
Sounds like a plan to see about trading the leather for some frags.

 

Its Alex lol, Shin is my sidekick (exactlyopb) I Manually dosed BRS 2 part for a few months, but my draw on Alk specifically way up to 80ml a day, and I knew it was time to automate. If I missed one day of dosing I would lose up to 1.8 DKH.

I'd look into the 2 part after you run through your Bionic though, I bought some in 2009 or 10 and still have the mixins from that first order.

I love the look of SPS dominant tanks though I think you'll rock it!

Thanks, I've had good success with the 3 or 4 sps and really like them. I do want to go more a sps dominate with a few zoas and Lps.

 

I really like the toadstool on the right. The tannish color one could go.....I like softies though....
