Did a water change Saturday night and finally hooked up my DIY carbon reactor. I didn't take pics of the progress. But here it is along with the DIY Phosban reactor.

Whoa wife says current tank is too small go buy yourself a bigger one?! Better keep her!

Lol wish my wife had that mentality!

Ha ha ha. I plan on it. Yea she's been really amazing. Every time I tell her I need something new she tells me to go for it.

I love that fact that my almost 2 year old and my wife love the tank. One of my daughters first words was fishy.

Thanks to all for all your help.

Update: been about a week since I've added my phosban reactor and a few days since I've added my carbon reactor. Yes I'm still having overflow issues, mainly issues with my hoffer gurgle buster. It's a dual overflow so I have 2 and when I get the sweet spot set on one the other goes all out of whack. That is something I'm working on. But since the addition of my reactors the cyano that I have been dealing with for quite some time is starting to get under control. The grow back rate has literally been cut in half and there is very little on the sand bed. Not to mention almost none on the rocks. Quite happy with the DIY projects and the tank is looking good. Once I get the overflows squared away I think I will be on the right track to a happy system.

Hey everyone. Last night I was finally able to install my new light fixture. I purchased an "Aquaticlife 48" 2- 150w metal halide, 4- 54w t-5. I am going slow acclimating the lights to the system. Going from 4 t5s to adding the metal halides is just amazing. Everything in the tank just pops. I have attached a picture of the tank with the halides on for just an hr. hope you like it.

So today I'm at 3 hours with the metal halides and I must say that all my corals look great. I real happy with my new fixture and it was worth the money. I couldn't be happier. My wife and daughter love it too which makes me super happy. Here are a few pics.

Nice tank and I love your wife's attitude. Mine is like SeminoleB's GF.
The only way I was able to upgrade from my 14 BioCube to the 55 was because she went out and bought a dog that I was not to keen about getting.

So I bought a new tank.
