Thanks Cheryl! I like the 40b a lot better than the 20L. I felt limited with space and now I don't feel that. I don't exactly know what I'm going to keep in the tanks yet. I know I like my sps. I've got a buddy who deals direct and could get some nice pieces at a good deal. Also when the tank is ready and can support them I would like to frag some of my higher end acros and get them going in the frag tank.
Since my main display is mainly sps and a few Lps and softies I really don't want the 80g to be a specific species tank. I'm thinking just a bare bottom mixed reef. At least that's what I'm thinking now. Unless you have some ideas that might spark an interest.
    Thanks again

Both tanks lit. The 80g just has a 2-54w t-5 right now. Going to be lit with 2-150w mh and 2-65w PC till is can get some retrofit t-5s.
Still need to build a canopy for the 80g so I can house the retrofit fixture.
Tank is still cycling and haven't done much with it at this point.

Thanks OFK. A lot of little things to do but it's coming along nicely. Good thing you can't see the rest of the garage though. That's the cleanest part of the garage. The rest has been neglected because of the tanks and other projects.

Tonight I decided to set my new fixture on some 2x4s just to see what the tank looks like with the new fixture. This is just temporary. I need to build a canopy or stand for the light.
Here are some pics. Let me know what you think.
Before and after. Before with just 2 t5s and after with 2-65w PC and 2-150w mh (14k pheonix bulbs)

Will's 40g frag tank (pics with light)

I decided to try my hand at aquascaping a little differently than just making a wall on the back.

I have changed it up and will be adding some sand to the tank. The tanks are still fishless and creature less with the exception of the love rock hitchhikers.

Let me know what you think of the scape. Keep in mind I'm still going to add sand. If you have suggestions let me know.

    Thank you.

I really like the two structures on the sides. They look sweet as.

I am not sure about the middle structure or all the rubble on the bottom, looks messy to me.

+1 The tall structures look really nice, but I would take some of the rocks on the bottom out. It would give the tank a cleaner look IMO

I agree with others, I would stack some more of the rock and create two structures and leave the third out.

Thank you all. I agree. I do not like the center.
I will break that down. Use all the rock on the bottom to build up the the left structure. Wheat I don't use can go in the sump.
The more I looked at it the more I disliked it.
    Thanks for the input.
