Will's review of Aqua SD (our 3reef sponsor)

Hey everyone,
I had the pleasure of visiting Aqua SD on Friday last. They are one of our 3reef sponsors that is located locally to me in San Diego. Some of you might know them from their awesome posts of magnificient corals that they have for sale.
I had the pleasure of speaking directly with Will, the owner of ASD. As soon as walked in the door I could tell that he was very busy but he did not hesitate to stop what he was doing to ask me if there was anything that he could help me with. I spoke with him for a bit about this and that. He is very knowledgable and knows what he is doing.
His staff is very knowledgable and helpful as well. I was in the store for quite some time and was asked if I needed help multiple times. I found this to be very welcoming and kind of a breath of fresh air knowing that if I needed anything I would not feel like I was BOTHERING somebody for either information or help.
Now on to the good stuff. If you have seen their posts than you know that they have some good looking corals. Thats nothing. The pictures, even though they are professional grade (IMO) do not do any of ASD corals justice. In person they are absolutely the most beautiful corals I have ever seen. As soon as you walk in the door on the left hand side is a big SPS frag tank filled with frags and mother colonies that are like nothing that I have ever seen. This shop is no ordinary LFS, its more like a Live Coral Store. Huge frag tanks filled with absolutely georgous corals. This is the best LFS I have ever been to. The prices are very reasonable and you IMO get more for what you pay for. I did not see one coral that did not look healthy (trust me I looked because I wanted to give 3reef a good review). ASD also has an amazing filtration system that I cant even begin to explain. Everything is able to be viewed, nothing is hidden out of sight from the customer. You see everything and that really makes me feel comfortable with purchasing anything as there are no tricks, no hidden voodoo that I believe some LFS's would keep from you.
I also went online and checked out their website, AquaSD.com, and I think I spent over an hour just looking at all the WYSIWYG corals. I found the site to be very easy to use and very easy to navigate. Check it out if you get a chance, you wont be dissapointed.
I did not get anything (except my water tested, due to conflicting water tests) but I can gaurantee you that ASD will be my first and last stop when I go to purchase corals.

Nice review. I haven't been back out to their new store. I have ordered from ASD multiple times, and it is always a top notch experience. Will is great to work with! Looks like I'll have to plan another trip back home, and stop in.

 

This was my first time to their new location. I went to their first location when they first opened 5+ years ago when I was still new.
ASD IMO is way better than Seaworld or the zoo, at least it is for me. They have just so much amazing things to see its unbelievable. And definitely good people!

Great write up. I wish I could visit there store. I ordered from ASD and my experience was great.

 

No problem, I just wanted to let everyone know how great they are. We never really see the inside of the big companies and I just wanted to share the experience and let those whose were on the fence know exactly that they ASD is all its cracked up to be.

Well if anyone comes down to San Diego plan to go there. Its only 15 min from the zoo or Seaworld. Like I've said, you won't be disappointed.
