Crap it's barely 70 out and my tank is already 85.

This nano with a halide is gonna cook! [smiley=wreck.gif]

So in addition to AC for the room, I am thinking about a chiller just for kicks. I've always wanted one. But man are they expensive!

I just looked at this one, on my little tank it could lower the temp 20 degrees!

    More Info Here.

What I find strange is that they recommend a powerhead to pump down to the chiller, which is opposite of what I thought was going on. So does this pump it back through the loop? Anyone else find it strange?

What is? The chiller? Or the way it loops?

I would like to see the guts of this thing I bet its not rigid tubing inside so the pump in and overflow out to sump area. Non rigid tubing I.E vinyl tubing can collapse with suction leading to kinks and blockage. just a theory.

    Interesting theory Phil.

That chiller is just too darn expensive.. I am now thinking about a used air-conditioner for $75 and an IceProbe.

@Naut you meds are too strong today, I have no clue what you are talking about on this thread. ::) ;D

    You're a nut!
Hey thank God for the cool nights in Northern Cali, I stuck a big fan in the window and another pointing at the tank, brought the temp down from 85+ to 70 overnight! 8)

Here in the Socialist Republic of New Jersey we are enjoying a balmy 52 degrees. My sump is right next to the a/c register so the tank stays cool 8) when the weather turns hot

I say go get the Ice probe with controller Matt. While your at it, find out if the controller can do multiple units.
