Not sure on if there is a rule against this or not?

I would like to post me experience with an online livestock retailer. I made an order from saltwaterfish.com and got it on time. Upon recipt I had 2 dead fish, 2 VERY sick BTS's, a VERY sick cleaner shrimp, 10 good blue leg hermits, and a yellow tang that needed out of the bad ASAP! I took pics of the dead/sick livestock and emailed them off per thier instructions. Recieved the money back as a credit in my account. I went in to my account today to order about $50 worth of stuff. Tried to apply my credit to this order and it informed me that I did not meet the min. order amount of $39.99. It then told me that I could use $10 worth of credit but would need to pay for the $39.99. This is going to make it VERY hard to spend the $117 in credit that I now have with this place, since its no good on live rock, live sand, or dry goods, livestock only!

Anyway, I am glad I found this place and have had some good sites recomended for future use. Guess I will have to try some of the other sites, or drive the 2.5 hours each way to the closest LFS. A big thanks again to everyone here.

FYI before I get flamed for this, the above live stock was not all for 1 tank, so I was not about to shock the daylights out of one tank. ;D

    sorry for your online headache

It's too bad you had such a nightmare order. For what its worth, I have made 4-5 orders from Saltwaterfish.com and never had any problems. I hope maybe this was just a freak occurance and that you will be able to use your credit to stock your tank. I've also ordered from Blue Zoo Aquatics with good success.

After writing an email explaining everything to them, this is the reply I got:

Thank you for contacting us. Unfortunately we are unable to accommodate your request. Credits can be applied only on livestock, after the minimum $39.99 is purchased. Credit can be used on any amount over that minimum.
Please let me know if I can assist you with anything else. I'll be happy to help. Have a good day!

Guess this will be the last time I order from them!

I would demand a refund, not credit. If they won't do it, then contact your credit card company and put a stop on the transaction.

The original order was about 3 weeks ago, I was going to re-order the fish for this weekend since I will be home. Cant really stop a transaction once it has been completed, or is there something else I can do?

The credit card company can reverse the charges, if its a fraud type case, like you payed for dead fish! So you can go that route. This should be a last effort though, as you will not be able to order from them again, and sometimes the card company will charge you to do so. So ask them for a full refund, not credit. And if they wont you can call the card company.
