Yep, like PG said, you still can. All you need to do is explain that you have been trying to resolve the issues with the vendor since the order.
Something I have had to do also.

Just another quick note, the vendor probably has somewhere in there terms that they only give credit not refunds, so they probably wont help and you'll have to go the card company route, but still try with the vendor first. But for future purchases make sure to read there refund policy before you buy.

So should I go to my CC company, or just wait like the 6 months before I am ready to put livestock in our new 240gal?

I would contact the vendor first and tell them you want a refund on the dead specimens, not store credit. If they decline to give you a refund, then contact the CC company.

+1. What I would do too.

If you have to go the cc route because the vendor won't accommodate, well, I wouldn't shop at the vendor anymore personally.

My credit card (it's the "what's in your wallet?" variety) has always been really great about stopping transactions. I've even had one experience, where after the cc stopped payment to the vendor, the vendor called and agreed to the refund. I'm thinking there is some sort of relationship between vendor and cc company and it's in the vendor's interest not to have these "dings" against them from the cc.

well I emailed them back, asking for a refund instead of a credit. Did not make any mention or threats of calling my CC company. Just waiting for a reply.

Yeah, keep us posted. And thanks for the heads up!

I would go the MEAN route if they try to deny you...that's just not right! And there is probably some sort of expiration on the credit anyways, so don't wait for your big tank.

    Hit em where it hurts!!!!!

well as of close of business no reply, maybe in the morning. They have until noon to reply or the CC company gets a call! Thanks to you guys, or I would have just waited. I have never disputed anything with a CC before. Anything particular I should tell them?

    here we go:

"Unfortunately I am unable to refund your credit card.
Keep in mind that credits do not expire. You may use them when you are ready to order more livestock. If you have questions regarding this issue, please refer to our guarantee.

Please let me know if I can assist you with anything else. I'll be happy to help. Have a good day! "

Guess I will have to call the CC company today.
