It is a dry heat, yeah right !
I maintained a 600 gallon system containing tangs of all types. I really make it a point not to advice unless I have first hand experience with a posters topic. Hence the reason you do not see me posting regarding LED, Anglers........

I would be very curious what many zoo's and LFS' sucess rate is with powder tangs? Every one I usually see at a LFS has always had some sort of problem.

I never buy (well once- and it was a big mistake) fish from a LFS w/o first making sure it is healthy- what I usually do is buy the fish and leave it at the LFS for at least a week- this way if something goes wrong I get my money back. Plus, the fish can be in the LFS Q/T and you need no proof if something goes wrong. You can also request this of the LFS when you buy the critter- if your LFS doesn't have a Q/T buy your fish else where.

Either way- I keep a 29 gallon Q/T for many reasons other then just as a Q/T tank. Emergency water source, hurt critter, fraging, ect. very handy to have.

When I got my Powder Blue, it was eating voraciously in the store... you could say it was slightly emaciated, but I took his eating as a good sign...

Now, he's a sight to behold. He loves nori and I discovered by happy accident that he likes new life spectrum pelleted food. After two weeks of keeping up with regular feedings, he filled out to what I would call normal size... now, he is just as fat and happy as one could ask for....

I don't know if this is realistic... I have never seen an LFS with a proper QT system... and we have at least 10 LFS in the metro area....

ive had many tanks in the past and i have never quarantined, it wasnt just to be a rebel i simply didnt have the funds to put up another tank after my display, i only had problems with parasites once and it was taken care of easily.
