    I would rely on GCFI's more then surge protectors. Try one of these GFCI
    pretty cheap protection.

    for real...surge protectors are meant to be replaced anytime they are tripped. It means they've taken the zap and are pretty much one time uses....

    I'm guilty of using them too.

    maybe add gfi breaker, the only problem is if everything is on the same circuit.

    install a 30amp breaker??(with new power strips) that should cover everything, since it's usually heaters that pull the most and usually cause trips, when hooked up with other stuff.

    surge protectors protect ya both ways, not sure if the GFCI's do that.

    If it wasnt for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all haha.

    I will say this, its one way to get rid of emerald crabs, lol! I pulled all the emeralds out and put them in the stock tank awhile back. I found a red emerald crab(originally green prior to the shock treatment) stuck to a rock like it was holding on for dear life.
