Trying to get my aquascaping together, and would like some honest opinions before I make this structure permanent. Im not fishing for compliments, so bring it on! What do you think?

in the end, only your opinion matters of course.

I think the rock on top needs to go or be swapped out.

I assume it is (or will be) all securely built with epoxy etc.

I like the structure otherwise quite a bit.

A general recommendation I make is to get a concrete drill bit and drill as many frag plug holes as you can all over it. I do them slightly larger than the plugs to make up for the misc growth that will accumulate in there.

I agree with the other 2 opinions.. The top rock looks like a balancing act and like the old saying, "Less is more."

Thanks, was on the fence about that top rock too. After playing with this for the last hour, I figured there's only a couple pieces I need to rod and epoxy together. Everything else is pretty stable...........other than the balancing act on top. : )

As an aside, that rock could still be utilized as a stand-alone platform. Might make it easier to manage something like GSP or Xenia. :)

Thanks guys, Played around with it and took off the top hat, I'm pretty satisfied now. Not going to post new pics, will save that for later, I want to get the structure in the tank first before more pics. : )

Yep top rock would have shadowed some good areas you have created for corals. What? Suspense?? It never hurts to use just a little epoxy even on the more stable pieces. You never know when your nice and lovely clown decides he is going to start attacking you when you are trying to place a coral. He scares you, you pull your hand back, knock all the rocks over, you know, hypothetically :)
