i think your fine..i would drop the beauty as well, but as long as you have a good skimmer and keep up with water changes then your good..

i have 9 fish in a 30 gallon with one of those fish being a lawnmower that has a huge bio load, but all my fish stay really small for the most part, but i also never slack off a water change..

im also about to be upgrading this week too, but i never had a problem in my 30 with all these fish, no algae or aggresion..

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Honestly everyone can do whatever they want with their systems. I can keep a lion fish in a 30 gallon with clown gobies, but I am not going to go around and advertise I do so nor I am going to advice others that it is alright.
Nine fish in a 30 gallon tank is just asking for issues with aggression and disease. One problem and the tank suffers and usually with the loose of fish and inverts. This is not a husbandry practice that should be followed or encouraged.
If you ask the same question enough or re-word it enough times you are going to eventually get the answer you want, regardless of if it is the in the best interest of the animals you keep. And once a person begins the mind set that they can go against the generalization and practiced of good husbandry in order to gain what they want with dis-regard to the what is best for the animals they keep, I am sorry but I have issues with that, and I am saddened to see this trend in the younger population of hobbyist with the exception of a few.

I would have to agree with Corrailine. As for your list that Dottyback would be a huge mistake IMO.

She was refering to good aquarium husbandry which is something I would hope you would want as well. I never encourage overloading a tank with fish or inverts its just not practical or fair to the animals. I have 5 fish in my 90 and feel that is too much but thats just me.
