    Hello everyone,

I am going to be building a new stand for my 125 soon so that I can utilize a sump and fuge on my tank. I have yet to find a large enough used tank that is relatively inexpensive and large enough to my liking. I would like to have a 75 - 100 gallon sump.

I would like to know if the following rubbermaid watering trough could be used as a sump:

RUBBERMAID 424288BLACK Stock Tank Length 52 In Width 31 In Height 25 In Capacity 100 Gal Material Polypropylene Black Includes Drain Plug

I would also like to know if this product leaches anything into the water. Also, would this be structurally strong enough to hold such a volume of water for a long time and now bow or break? Would this product be able to be used as a sump for my 60 inch 125?

    Thanks in advance,

    Robert

Okay. What would be some of the foreseeable pros and cons of utilizing a sump with this design?

Depends on what you want. The only con that came to mind for me is you won't have a side veiw of your fuge.

the major question is with any sump is the height low enough to allow you access to your equipment(even the ability to remove the skimmer completely).

So figure out the clearence you have between the tub and stand top
