    I just buy the blue or black stuff from the LFS, and make sure that its tight up against the back of the tank...... Always looks great...

    If you wanted to. Or you can buy a roll and a couple cheap tools. It's pretty simple. If you work from the center to edges when squee-geeing the air out you will get professional results.
