Wow, an aiptasia actually hurt me

    Last night while feeding my sun coral I touched a pretty big aiptasia(1") and after a few seconds I felt sharp little stings, kind of like a small needle. 30 minutes later it still felt tingly and sharp pain. Today my finger still felt weird, but it couldn't possibly be from the aiptasia right?

    I've handled just about every anemone (maxi-mini, haddoni carpet, RBTA, flower, pseudocorynactis, and small aiptasia) and never had any affects like this, other than the anemone feeling "sticky."

    Just wanted to share lol.

    Perhaps this was the first time a nematocyst got through your skin, but when a nem feels sticky, you're getting stung. Had a condy once that got me good in my left palm. Gave me a small rash that tingled for hours and itched for a couple days.
