wow!! Glad to hear he's ok!!!

Am I reading right that your tank has only been cycled for 2 weeks? I'd be careful with adding anything else for a while as you will likely see some additional mini-cycling with that new of a tank and added inhabitants.

Why not? my params are perfect, and I have had the fish for 2 weeks so my tank has adjusted to the bioload

    Perhaps I was not clear.

I am not saying "stop adding anything".

I am simply stating that caution should be exercised when a very new tank (such as yours) is stocked initially. Tho you may be testing "perfect" in only 2 weeks - your tank is still in it's infancy and is very fragile until it has been fully established for months and months with no problems.

How funny! Glad everything turned out ok. This happened to my leopard wrasse for like a week, I was freaking out.

Well, glad you found it, so many of the things I was thinking don't matter at this point.

However, 2 weeks is a very young tank. Do be careful as stated.

Diatoms are from silicates, as stated. A dead fish will not cause them; your source is something else, possibly your water.

One day of not eating would not kill a wrasse, unless it was in very bad/poor condition already.

Even if your tank is covered, the smallest of openings are still a spot a "jumper" will find eventually. Trust me.
