Wrase and Tang

I have a six-line wrase that is nipping off pieces of my purple tang's tail. We have tried to catch the wrase, but to no avail. I have even considered catching the tang & giving him back to the fish store so he doesn't have to interact with the wrase. I'm not sure what to do. I would appreciate any suggestions.

Ah, the terrible terror of a sixline never seems to disappoint... :/

One or the other will have to be removed. I'd remove the sixline if I were you, as it'll prevent almost any new additions at this point. The inverted bottle trick (trap) seems to work well on them.

 

i agree that the 6 line wrasse needs to be removed...

def try the inverted bottle trick but use something with a wider spout, like a Juicy Juice bottle (the one below is what I used). That's what I used to catch my 6-line and a ton of other fish I just bastered some mysic into it with some raw shrimp. I found the wider spout is less daunting to the fish so they feel more inclined to enter the trap. Good Luck!
