    Hey everyone,

We just got a cleaner wrasse for our 135 gallon reef tank. Everyone seems to like him except our stingray. Every time the wrasse tries to clean it, it shoots away. At first I thought this was funny, but now it looks like the stingray has a patch of missing spots on his back.

Question: does our wrasse think the spots on our stingray are food/parasites and, thus, will continue to annoy "Stingy"? Is this something someone has seen before with a stingray and should I be worried?

    Thanks everyone! Love this site.

I would take the cleaner wrasse out. It messed with my ray's and started making red marks on them. Looked like sores. They seem to irritate them non stop.

take the wrasse out and the ray will need a bigger aquarium than that IMO!

Honestly, cleaner wrasses have no place in a closed system. They are best left in the ocean, as about 1% are sustained long term in captivity.

Also, you may want to research how much room that ray needs.
