ok, so this is the second time my McCoskers Flasher Wrasse has done this. Its like he's constipated he spazes like crazy and does all of this crazy twitching all over the tank, looks kind of uncomfortable so i walk up to the tank to see whats wrong and he always has like a ball of poop that he's trying to get out. When the other fish are doing pooping they dont act any different.

so any idea on what causes the constipation? too much garlic in their food maybe?

could be a parasite. i dont think the garlic would have anything to do with this.

My sand sifter gobi does kinda the same thing, when he poops he wiggles like crazy and slides his belly across the sand to wipe his butt. Its pretty funny to watch actually.

+1 on internal parasite. There are many meds you can soak thier food in and treat them. I don't know off the top of my head if the meds are safe to use in the dt nor can I remember the name(s) so I guess I'm not much help at this moment:(

Guess I should also mention my clowns have always had long white stringy poop so maybe a parasite of some sort is possible.

Is there any kind of medicine that I could soak in their food that's reef safe? I don't have a quarntine and my fish are impossible to catch.

And they have always swam normal and eat like pigs

The reasons I ask, is because my clowns were too having stringy white poop, and I read online that it can be from too much protein (or something, I can't really remember...). So I cut back on the amount of mysis my fish were getting, and voila! the white stringy poop went away.

From what I understand, there is no such thing as too much Garlic. I actually had a Green Spotted Puffer die from constipation though. I caught it waaaay too late, and they are far more sensitive to silly problems. I was told that one of the most effective ways to cure it is to mix pureed peas into their food. Sounds weird, but look it up.
