My 6-line wrasse just swam up and attacked my harptail (Mozambique) blenny and the blenny turned around and it appeared as though he bit the wrasse right on the face below his eye. How serious is the venom of a fang blenny. The wrasse isn't acting unusual and is keeping a safe distance from the blenny now. I am concerned though.

    wrasse and fang blenny

i saw your post and wonder what happened to your 6 line wrasse.

i had a black line blenny years ago who got along great with my mystery wrasse. the black line died two yrs ago and i recently bought a new yellow tail fang blenny.

I thought they would get along great but the mystery wrasse soon died after i put the yellow tail in the tank. They seemed ok at first then the wrasse just hid and died soon thereafter.

the LFS said it was unlikely that the blenny bit the wrasse or killed it.

Last week i found another wrasse, orange back fairy, and put him in the tank. He seemed great and happy the first day and everyone got along in the tank. the day after that he was dead. his tail was quite nipped up and it looked like his side was swollen (but hard to tell if this was true or just my imagination).

I've taken the fang blenny out and have him in a separate tank until i can figure out if i should put him back in the main tank or take him back to LFS.

I did see a post where someone said the fang blennies might not get along well with wrasses.

any one else out there have experience on this.

    Thanks

It may cause a problem for your wrasse, keep close track of it.
