    Any information about the Hoeven's Wrasse (Halichoeres melanurus).


    How do they get along with small fish?

    I have a 375 with the following in it:
    Critters:

    Hippo Tang (donated to me by a friend in 2005)
    Hippo Tang (purchased 1995)
    Yellow Belly Hippo Tang (added March 2008 )
    1 Green Chromis (1/2001)
    Regal Angel (added March/2008 )
    Orange Shoulder Tang (April/27/2007)
    Red Sea Emperor Angel (June/14/2007)
    Yellow Tailed Angel (April/19/2008 )
    Flame Fin Tomini Tang (May/2007)
    Coral Beauty (May/2007)
    Male and female Orange Anthias (Lyretail) (added Feb/2008 )
    Male and female Mandarin (Jan 7 2010)
    Yellow Pyramid Butterfly (Dec 20 2010)
    1 female Blue Eye Lyretail Anthia (April/19/2008 )
    1 Male Square Spot Anthia (June 2010)
    1 Female Square Spot Anthia (June 2010)
    1 Pink and Blue Spot Watchman Goby (June 2010)
    1 Black Pyramid Butterfly (May 14 2010)

    You should have no problems with it harassing small fish. It may do damage to small snails though and feather dusters.

    I do not really have any feather dusters in the main tank since the Regal Angel was added :)

    Looks fine to me, should make a nice addition.

    I assume with the stock you already have, your tank is covered and you feed multiple times per day, correct?

    I feed twice a day. the tank is not covered but the canopy it about 20"s tall so it would be a high jump to get out.

    I have a Hoeven's wrasse in my 500g and he was the last fish I have added(29 total) and no problems at all.

    thanks for the info, I guess I am more worried about my mandarins, just do not want them picked on. I think food is ok since I had them with a 6 line wrasse before.

    I think you would be ok my Hoevens wrasse was a great tankmate until he jumped out. I want to get another to replace him.

    I just added one 2 days ago and has been very peaceful and so has everyone else. He did annialate every small cerith snail I had in about 3 hours though.
