If you've seen the specks..chances are that it is scratching itself of the substrate/rocks from ich. My royal gramma in my mantis tank has ich and it does this quite often.

i hope its nothing to worry about

my melanurus has always swimmed normal and so has my mccoskers up until right now.

he's still twitching, and he'll swim normal for a few seconds then go on his side

he's been eating like a pig doesnt look any different, when hes not doing this crazy twitching he looks and acts fine, but thats only for a few seconds and goes right back and does it again

could be possible, ive never seen him scratch on the rocks but he could do it when im not looking

he's also had a weird fascination with my skimmers intake pump like he has been going at it and poking at it and theres nothing on there for him, i dunno of that is causing it or not

and when he's not doing the crazy twitchin he just swims weird, just twitched again

I never ruled it out :D I remember you posting that you thought it was sand stuck to the fish but I am pretty sure that what you were seeing was ich, not sand. Just because you're not seeing the white dots does not mean that the fish doesn't have ich. As you may recall from the links I provided to you regarding ich, the life cycle of the parasite does involve it's removal from the host to "fester" on the substrate and make more parasites which then reinfect the fish. I highly suggest that you have a read here for more information before you rule ich out:
