Well my tank is not having a good day!! LOL I have to make another post!

My two male wrasses have been fighting really bad lately (flame and red velvet). Last night they were going at it so bad, I couldn't even break them up with a net. Making the tank pitch black didn't stop them either. Today one of them hid all day and just popped out for a second and was immediately attacked by the other. This is not normal! There is always a bit of tension between them, but they usually get along fine. Could they be fighting over the female wrasse in the tank? The one who is being really aggressive has been flashing the female a lot. And if they are fighting over her, is there anything I can do?

Why would they be any different than any other species? I say you are on the right track.

haha I think these fish have testosterone ;) And the worst part is the female shows no interest in either of them!

Is there anything I can do? I'm afraid one is going to get badly injured.

I would say get the hiding one out if possible, failing that take the aggressor out.

Ugh, I have nowhere to put either one...I have my 37, but they would go crazy being in that small tank I think.

It would be only temporary as you should take one to the LFS. Flasher wrasses do best with more females than males in the tank. It's the harem thing.

Hmmm well they got along okay until last night. I dunno...I'll see how they are doing tomorrow. I will be really sad to see one go, but I will always do what's best for the fish.

Always sucks when your best laid plans get changed. Good luck.

Honestly, I am surprised that they sold you a pair of males, and only one female. That is just asking for trouble.

I would gladly take one of them, but your a long ways off.

Best you can do is to get rid of one of them. Sorry about your troubles.

Well, they are different types of wrasses. One is a Hawaiian flame and one is a red velvet...so that's why they said two would be okay.
