I did a bunch of reading on here about various wrasses. There's a lot of material to go through. I was hoping that some wrasse expert can chime in. Btw, what happened to nicewrasse guy?

Long story short, I've build BRS screen top for my rimless 110g. It has only once sleeper goby and one mimic tang in it right now. It has a 1.5" - 2" sand bed.

I am thinking about filling the rest with various reef safe wrasses, but I do not want to add many at once.

Any chance someone could post a list of easy to moderate difficulty wrasse recommendations? Would be great if list could ordered in the same order as you'd add them to the tank and call out male/female etc when it matters. I'd really like to add one fish at a time.

    Thanks!

Did you see the sticky (on this subforum) from evolved? He is the local wrasse expert around here and other reef sites as well.

Yeah, I have. A lot of great info.

I think list of particular wrasse suggestions and the order in which to add them is what I am looking for. I am sure it can be derived from that post, but I was hoping for an expert recommendation based on my tank size and requirements.

Thanks. Ill continue to reply here. Or we can take it to PM if you're willing to help/guide me :)

    You said:
The budget is something I am open too. Buying $100-$200 fish is not out of the question. Timing and availability are not an issue too. I am not looking to stock quick. Ideally I'd buy one fish every 3..4 month. If I have to do this over next 1..2 years, that is fine.

Probably like majority of people, I like vibrant/colorful fish, so my preference would be towards that.

Any concrete suggestions would be incredibly helpful and provide me a great starting point.

    Thank you.

    Here is fine.

And that right there cuts a lot of species out; many are quite a bit over $200.

But that's just about any wrasses, really. :) However, certain color combinations appeal differently to people, and this is what I was really getting at. Others are particular about the color combination of various fish, meaning they might not want two species which look somewhat similar.

Here's the best starting point I can offer: Reference the thread/list, and do some Goolge image searches of the various Paracheilinus and Cirrhilabrus species. Decide what you like for yourself. Avoid the few Cirrhilabrus which are noted as aggressive with other wrasses. Put a list together, and I'll gladly give you feedback from there.

The size of the tank leaves the door open for any Paracheilinus and/or Cirrhilabrus species (with the noted species to avoid). Provided your doing a mix of the two genera, shoot for 8-10 total. Simply go with lone specimens of each species. Male or female doesn't matter much - you'll end up with males of each eventually.

...And locating females of certain species can keep you under the $200 limit you provided, where the male of same species would be considerably more expensive.

    I have a 50-60g tank 36'', 20'', 20''. For a stocking list would this work?
    1 Yellow tang
    2 Maroon misbar clowns
1 Leopard wrasse or Mystery wrasse
    3-5 Blue green chromis
    1 Green manderine
I plan on feeding my tank cyclopeze and PE mysis, so would the Leopard wrasse or Mystery wrasse do well in my tank.
