Careful with it. If you want it to spread, let it start touching somethign else. you can put a rock up against it and it will encourage its growth. it will Walk over to that rock and leave a piece behind that will grow into another stalk.

at the peak of my Xenia, I would find myself pulling 10 stalks or more out a month and throwing it in the yard.

Not looking to insult or offend – but in my experience Xenia is a hardy coral that is easily fragged. The colony is easily kept in check in a clean solid system as it’s a moderate to slow grower. In a dirty environment (excess nutrients in column) Xenia thrives such as a weed and can easily and quickly become out of control and outright invasive.

Often you will find people say that they have a clean system and yet Xenia is a weed – this is because the Xenia is consuming the excess nutrients such as nuisance algae does. Often we have posts saying the tank parameters are perfect yet there is a nuisance algae issue that can’t be figured out. Same deal here, the nutrients are there and being consumed at the same pace as being generated.

Keep fragging and giving away – you have the perfect sized colony in my opinion
