So back when i changed from my 55 to my 29 my xenia only opened about halfway, then over the next few weeks it got smaller and smaller, slowly melted away and has been dead for a couple weeks, now theres fingers and stems starting to pop back up.Can they come back like that?

There was probably a small part of the mat left intact that survived.

I had the same thing happen to me before. Had one stalk.... it melted away. Then I noticed 6 or 7 baby stalk sprout from the rock. Then I got upset and nuked the rock :)

Yea,i'm glad there coming back,i like em.I'd rather fight to keep them under control then have them dying. It was a small patch to start with but looks like there could be more hands than there was before(still tiny though!!)

Happens to me all the time. They seem to die off then some months later they just pop-up out of no where.

It's just kinda weird,i havent lost any corals before,i figured once they melt away, there done.I hear alot of people saying that they wished they never put them in there, but my tank is just a softie tank so i'm kinda wanting that overgrown look to it!! I know,I know-i'd better be careful with what i wish for!!! ;D
