Can you help me ID the name of this Xenia ? I am wondering how big it may get as it has already grown quite a bit in a short time. I am wondering if this is the best placement for the size it may get. Also, I saw the Condy get a hold of a branch and hurt it. Raises the question, when they say may sting. does that mean kill ?

    Looks like maybe hetroxenia?
And yeah, it will grow out to however far you let it ;)
Just my two cents (not trying to poke at you), keep an eye on that anemone. It looks terrible.

    Thanks, on the Xenia

really. How So ? Color, thickness ? I know I havn't been able to feed it directly because he is hiding behind the rocks like that but I thought he was doing OK. He has a porceline anemone crab attached to him that constantly feeds.

Great, something to worry about tonight..

It looks very bleached to me. It should have a brownish tint. The darker the brown, the healthier the anemone.
Maybe its not getting enough light and can't really move because of where it is? IDK it kinda looks like its trapped in a cave from this angle.

    I am referencing this image
Saltwater Aquarium Invertebrates for Marine Reef Aquariums: Condy Anemone

Aside from the tips that are purple on mine. If it wanted to it could get out, heck it climbed in there. There is an easy way out not apparent buy the photo. I hope he is OK he is cool.

I did just take the long feeder and put some shimp in there and he swelled around it. We shall see.

    Thanks

The xenia will pulsate depending on many factors. One of which that made a difference in my tank was iodine treatment. Some swear by it and other dont think it matters, but iodine helped my xenia a lot in the long run...

I think its hetroxenia too. Its beautiful. I dont know why so many people knock Xenia for growing everywhere. This means you are doing something right. I just keep it "trimmed" back. It's just like landscaping your yard. Hell ya, the grass will grow everywhere. You just dont let it. It is beautiful. If you get it to pulse you will be even more impressed.
As far as the anemone goes, it does look a bit unhappy. You just want to make sure you target feed it often. A dead anemone can take out the whole tank. If it looks unhappy I wouldnt be afraid to move my rock. You can also blast it with a powerhead to help its foot release. What kind of lighting do you have?
