Xenia is an odd one. It did awesome in my tank for 8 months then melted away in a week. Nothing changed in my levels.

I have read several places that state Xenia does better in "dirtier" tanks. Usually, if you have SPS, you cannot keep Xenia.

What other types of corals does he have?

what exactly do you guys mean by a dirtier tank? Should we do less water changes or something?

By dirtier, I just mean a newer tank. Less stable parameters. Less than perfect levels of phosphates etc.

Continue as you are. Less water changes would cause your other inhabitants to suffer. If your other corals are doing great, then don't worry to much. Keep an eye on it and see what happens.

You'll be happier if it dies because its not easy to kill on purpose. Most including myself, have it thrive for about 6 months, then melt over the span of a week. I got a skimmer, then it went downhill. That's on most peoples weed list and it spreads like mad, can sting other corals too. I am going to try another small frag of pom pom on the sand bed and see how it does.

Xenia likes nitrates. If you want to keep them, make sure your nitrates are at least 15ppm, but if your keping any sensitive corals, and sps corals, then let the xenia die off and continue to keep your water clean.
