It had only taken 6 months for me to start cycling all of the dry rock I have. I figure it will take at least two months to really get any good size bacteria population. In that time I will be building the sump, drilling the tank, and deciding between barebottom or aragonite. It feela good finally making some progress on this build.

I have a 700gph overflow from gl*******s, but just came across the ghost overflow by reefsavvy. If it wasn't so expensive I would definitely give it a try. If some one has hsed the ghost overflow let me know if they are worth the money please.

Here are some photos of roughly how the rock will be in the tank. Please excuse the poor photos, there is no bachground and no light over the tank I am using to cycle the rock. Also, I wasn't too worried about filling the tank since this is just for cycling the rock.

I ordered a Vertex Omega 130 today for $199 from brs. I normally don't buy products when they first come out, but I could not say no to a $320 skimmer marked down to $199. It should be arriving some time next week.

I believe the on on the glass has a magnet in them, easy enough to DIY but Aqua-Mags LLC has them for a fair price. I am thinking of DIYing the smaller sized one, for my 40B.

That is exactly what I did. I plan on making one or two more.
