Iused the 1x4s to prevent some sway in the stand when i purchased it. I didn't think the stand would twist the way it has though.

Thanks, the stand I have sitting next to me at the LFS is well built and very heavy. Solid wood, not particle board. It is a sharp looking stand.

Good. I dismantled the stand that came with my tank set-up and added "real" wood to some parts to make it stronger. Particle board seems to disintegrate when water touches it for some reason. ;)

holy cow. that blows. i hope you got some pics of it twisted and, more importantly, I hope the transfer went well.

photos taken and the transfer only took about an hour. From the time we got the stand home to the tank being on the new stand and in the correct spot. However, I had to put about 35 gallons of water down the drain because I did not have enough rubbermade totes. I only had 20 gallons premade thinking this would be enough. It wasn't. The sump wasn't hooked up until about 2PM EST. I have so much more space in the stand and the entire front opens up. No bar, nothing. It is also very solid. I will post photos later tonight.

oh yea, the new stand was 4 inches taller than my old one so I had to raise the light a little bit. Everything seems to ba happy. I did lose my 6-line wrasse. I'd rather lose one fish than the entire tank and everything in it.

Thank you. I may need a bigger tank before the coral even has a chance to really fill the tank out.

Thank you. I started with nothing but frags from between 5-30 heads last winter. It took a while, but they are finally covering the rocks they are on.

Thanks. I don't feed them and they pop off new heads constantly. When I did feed them they did not pop new heads. However, a friend of mine constantly feeds his and always have new heads spouting. Both of our frags came from the same colony. Who knows.
