My favorite motto is Keep It Simple, Stupid.

I dug up an old ball valve and I have it on the overflow as if I was running a herbie, but only with one drain. I know, I need a fail safe, but it will do for now. The water level in the overflow is staying level (I'm using a plastic ruler to keep track). Marinedepot never sent me the drain strainer and I forgot to buy a gate valve at Lowes. .

After seeing how quiet it is, I may turn my 75 gallon's overflow into a herbie (properly). I hear absolutely nothing.

What is the silencer for the single drain overflows? I forget what its called.

 

Keep it simple and stupid, computer programmer jargon. That is my bf's favorite as well.

It is the Mission type style kind of, I really can not put my finger on it. Just looks cool.

Herbie way to go

 

That is the only way to go when you program and have hundreds of pages of code to review if it doesn't run right. Labeling is also very important.

I plan on doing a stockman on this tank. Herbie for the 75. Until I build the stockman, I will use the ballvalve. Closed when at home and open when away.

 

So, the tank is already done cycling. I used rubble out of my 75G's sump. Here are pics with water. I still need lighting for it. An ATO will be arriving sometime next week hopefully due to a trade.

The only update is that I moved it to the other side of the room. The moisture was messing with my computer.

Lights should be purchased soon. However, I have fragged a few acans.

Man, if only he put just about anything in that tank when he started it, it would be pretty dang big now!
