    Hey Everyone,
I was thinking of getting a new addition to my tank and I wanted to see what everyone though. Right now I have a yellow eye kole tang and a Desjardini sailfin tang and they get along fine. I wanted to see if a blue tang will get along with those other 2 tangs. I don’t really know the temperament of the blue carribean tang to I just want to make sure he will be as chill as my kole tang. Thanks you

Your sailfin will likely pick on it, if it's been in the tank for any length of time. The sailfin and atlantic blue tang are in the same genus, zebrasoma.

Its an 80g. The Sailfin is approx 3 inches and the Yellow Eye is 2 inches. I plan to upgrade the tank to a 150 within the next year. So I know that the sailfin should be housed in a 125 but he is still small enough for the tank he's in now.( just wanted everyone to know that I'm aware of this and that I know he will get real big in time.)

This is kind of like having a yellow tang and wanting to add a salifin tang.
    Same genus.
I did that and they started fighting as soon as he went in the tank but after 4-5 days they got along just fine.
It really depends, my yellow could have been more aggressive and killed him.

It really depends on the fish. But there is always a risk

I'm not sure how three tangs would get along in only 80 gallons. If you are upgrading soon, why not just wait until you have the bigger tank? Then you won't have to worry about fighting. Because the sailfin and blue tang are from the same family, there is a good chance of aggression issues.

I totally know how it is!! But being rational is best...just get to work on that new tank! And the money you don't spend on the blue tang can go into your new tank fund!

You know.. We as 3reefers are also thankful of people who listen to a good advice.
There are countless people who ask for help but just won't take the advice no matter how good it is.
