yellow eye kole tang tank size?

    Yes, 55 is too small for anthias. I have three in my 90 gallon, and that is a little cramped. They are extremely active and fairly aggressive, so they need a big tank.

    ok so without the mandarin, what triggers would work? a huma huma? blue jaw?

    All the ones on liveaquaria except the clown are listed as 70 or under as a minimum tank size. I have no personal experience with them, so you really should do some independent research into those numbers.

    i have. blue jaw is the one that is small enough. idk if i really want that though. ugh. im just gonna have to go to the lfs and window shop then research a fish i find. oh boy!

    My Kole instantly ate any prepared foods, but other bristletooth tangs I have had never ate one bit of prepared food, and only ate grunge and film algae.

    They might never be taught to eat prepared food, or they will go for it. There really is no way to get them to do it.

    If they don't get enough food from the glass and rocks and such, and won't eat prepared foods, they die.

    Mine hasn't touched any nori that I put in as far as I've seen. I imagine some will, but there's no guarantee.

    looks like ill just have to find one thats on frozen foods then...

    There's nothing really frozen that's all too great for them because of their unusual diet. The best is to have your live rock uncleaned; as in, don't use a baster to blow the various crud off of it, and don't worry about algae growing in the tank.

    ok, i have a rock in my 30 i could put in there that has GHA on it. so should i not get a cucumber then? or a serpent star?
